The Analysis: We assess your lip ratio (Phi ratio) in relation to your chin and nose. We check for dental support and muscle activity that might affect the outcome.

Will I look like a "duck"?
No. The “duck” look is caused by overfilling the vermilion border or placing product in the wrong plane (the cutaneous lip). Dr Ricky’s technique respects the natural “shelf” of the lip, ensuring projection remains natural and proportionate to your profile..
Is it painful?
The lips are sensitive, but our protocol prioritises comfort. We use a high-strength topical anaesthetic and often use products containing lidocaine. Most patients describe the sensation as a “pinch” followed by pressure.
How long does swelling last?
The lips are highly vascular and will swell more than other areas. Typically, 60% of the swelling resolves within 24 hours. We recommend scheduling your treatment at least 2 weeks before any major social event.
Can you dissolve old work?
Yes. We see many patients seeking correction work. If you have migrated or lumpy product from previous treatments elsewhere, we may recommend dissolving and restarting to achieve a clean, crisp result.
