MOXI is a non-ablative fractional laser developed by Sciton. Non-ablative means the treatment works without removing the skin surface. Instead, it creates controlled zones of thermal activity within the skin to encourage cellular renewal, support collagen response, and bring excess pigment toward the surface over time.

In practical terms, MOXI is used to improve skin tone, texture, and overall skin quality — with less downtime than more aggressive resurfacing treatments. During treatment

A topical numbing cream is typically applied beforehand. Most patients describe warmth, mild prickling, or a brief stinging sensation during treatment. Comfort varies according to the individual and the settings used.

Immediately after

The skin often appears pink or red and can feel warm — similar to a mild sunburn. This typically settles within a few hours.

Over the following days

As the skin renews, microscopic darkened debris rises toward the surface, creating a temporary dry or sandpaper-like texture for several days. Pigmented spots may appear temporarily darker before they begin to fade. This phase is expected and is a normal part of the renewal process.

Social downtime

Most patients return to their usual activities without significant interruption. Where appropriate, makeup is often possible after the first 24 hours. Although the skin may feel textured to the touch for several days, recovery is generally manageable for patients who prefer a lower-downtime pathway.

Common effects (usually temporary)
