CHEEK FILLERS BRISBANE

Dermal Fillers for Cheek Enhancement/Augmentation

ABOUT CHEEKS & CHEEKBONES

Cheeks and cheekbones play an essential role in your aesthetic and personal image. They define, naturally contour your face and accounts for an important section of our face, namely the midface. They are also closely associated with the adjacent structures, such as the undereyes, mouth corners, jowls and nasolabial folds.

Dr. Ricky loves to expertly create and define your features by adding volume and structure in this area to make you appear fresher, more beautiful and youthful.

WHY CHEEK FILLERS?

Cheeks can often be one of the first areas that give away your real age. Unfortunately, after your early 20s, facial volume becomes compromised and the area may ‘fall’ and start to appear ‘flat’. This phenomenon also contributes to the ageing process of the adjacent structures mentioned above, resulting in multiple negative emotional attributes – tiredness and sadness.

Many patients choose Eleventh Heaven™ to expertly treat them with cheek dermal fillers to:

  1. Build upon poor/insufficient cheek contour;
  2. Repair and build structure while creating volume that has been lost due to ageing;
  3. Provide additional volume (and shape) in specific/targeted areas of their cheeks to enhance, feminise or masculinise. (E.g. a patient who wants higher cheekbones for beautification or angular cheekbones to add strength to the overall image)

OUR APPROACH & DESIGN

Size

The ideal size of the cheeks will be guided by many factors such as the length & width of your face, ethnicity and cultural perceptions. Whilst there is a conventional or golden ratio that is used as a guidance, nature does not always follow the rules of beauty and the need for an artistic eye is mandatory to give patients a naturally beautiful look rather that completely changing their appearance.

Shape

Dr. Ricky will expertly contour and create the best-suited shape for your face. For feminisation, the cheek filler is commonly placed at point of beautification and apple of the cheeks to give a smooth-flowing “S” curve. Smooth, uninterrupted curvatures signify feminism and beauty. For masculinisation, cheek fillers may be added to add angularity to the bone structures to portray strength of a male face.

Rejuvenation/Restructuring

Re-creating a canvas and platform for your facial profile and features is one of our signature treatments. By considering the pattern of volume loss (from fat pads & bone loss), we can gently replace the volume loss with dermal fillers where there natural structures should be, resulting in a natural looking, refreshed and beautifully contoured cheeks.

Beyond The Box

We think far ahead before we pick up our syringe and inject. Many factors come into our mind when we design your cheeks – your personal style/personality, what your cheeks look like in 3D view and during animation, what your cheeks may look like in long run and how by enhancing your cheeks could we influence the adjacent structures to enhance your overall beauty. We like to ensure any corrective work will wear well for months/years to come.

FAQs

Purpose of Cheek Fillers

To improve:

  • Size of the cheeks
  • Shape of the cheeks
  • Define/enhance cheek bones
  • Improve facial profile
  • Rejuvenate by indirectly improving nasolabial folds, jowls and undereye areas

Importance of Midface

  • Ageing of the midface with “sagging” of the cheeks contributing to a sad & tired appearance with tissue heaviness observable at the undereye areas, jowls and nasolabial folds.

Clinical Dosage

The clinical dosage is determined by:

  1. Your facial profile – width and length;
  2. Your ethnicity/cultural preference;
  3. Your desired aesthetic outcomes.

It is common that an average minimum amount used in the cheeks is 2 syringes for younger patients. It is also a common practice at Eleventh Heaven™ that cheeks are built over sessions until your desired outcome is achieved. The cheeks can be injected every 4 weekly until desired outcome is achieved.

Areas To Be Treated

  • Cheek bones
  • Subcheeks (pre-auricular)
  • Front cheeks

Pain Relief

Most patients do not require any form of anaesthesia as the procedure is very tolerable.

If needed, ice and topical anaesthesia are available.

There is anaesthetic agent in the filler which will make the procedure even more tolerable.

Injecting Methods

Dr Ricky mostly uses a dermal filling cannula, which is a blunt-tipped instrument to administer the cheek filler. This gives a more even & smoother distribution of the filler and is less traumatic to the tissue. A wide area of the cheek can be treated with just one entry point thereby minimises side effects such as swelling and bruising.

Cheek Filler Procedure

  1. Detailed consultation and contraindications screened.
  2. Pre-procedure: Antiseptic wash.
  3. Disinfection of the face again with Chlorhexidine and Ethanol.
  4. Introduction of a dermal filling cannula.
  5. Your tolerance and progress is monitored throughout.
  6. You might be required to sit up or animate during the procedure multiple times throughout for aesthetic outcomes.

Procedure Downtime

Minimal. Any swelling and bruises after 24 hours can usually be covered with makeup easily.

As with all medical procedures, side effects or complications are possible. These are usually very mild, minor and self-limited.
