FAQs

Why use PRP for skin rejuvination?

PRP treatment delivers concentrated growth factors that stimulate and improve blood supply in addition to nutrients needed for cells to regenerate the ageing tissue. This treatment utilises a scientifically-proven technique for tissue regeneration with over 5000 published articles.

Science of PRP

  • Inside platelets are alpha granules, which contain cytokines, growth factors and bioactive proteins essential for tissue repair and healing.
  • Upon contact with collagen fibres in exposed endothelium, the platelet is activated.
  • This causes the alpha granules start to release their growth factors (GF) that activate the body’s natural healing mechanism.
  • Each growth factor has an important  role in the regeneration process. The main GF’s include:
    • platelet-derived growth factor (PDGFaa, PDGFbb, PDGFab)
    • transforming growth factor beta (TGF-b, TGF-b2)
    • vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)
    • insulin-like growth factor (IGF)
    • fibroblast growth factor (FGF)
    • epidermal growth factor (EGF).

The benefits of PRP are thought to rely on the complementary and complex interactions between the concentrated growth factors and adhesive protein factors such as fibronectin and vitronectin, creating the regenerative process of chemotaxis, cell proliferation, removal of tissue debris, angiogenesis, extracellular matrix formation, osteoid production, and collagen synthesis.

How does your PR differ from other providers?

Not all PRP are created equally. We use ALOCURO PRO-PRP device which is TGA-approved (Therapeutic Goods Australia) and CE marked. This device incorporates PRP concentrating technology and can provide a platelet concentration of approximately 6x baseline or even more if needed.

At the Eleventh Heaven™, PRP is collected from patient under the clinical care of our registered medical practitioner and administered by the primary medical practitioner. Alocuro PRP is minimally manipulated and is for homologous use only.

Is this a safe procedure?

As with all medical procedures, all procedures carry risks including small risks of bleeding, bruising, pain and infection. As this is an autologous treatment, meaning that only patient’s own blood is used to extract the concentrated nutrients and growth factors, the procedure is considered safe as the risk of allergic reactions and rejections are very low.

How many treatments do I need?

On average, a patient requires 3 treatments performed 1 month apart to achieve optimal results. A 6-12 monthly maintenance treatment is recommended.

Is there a downtime?

Minimal or none.

The causes for hair loss are complex. PRP is linked by numerous high level research studies to reduce hair loss and improve hair number & health.
