NASOLABIAL FOLD IMPROVEMENT

Nasolabial Fold Softening with Dermal Treatments

About Nasolabial Folds

Nasolabial folds are the lines that run from each side of the nose toward the corners of the mouth. Some people also notice adjacent creases that sit parallel to the main fold. Many adults visit our Brisbane clinic concerned that these lines make the face look tired or older.

Why they appear (often a mix of factors):

  • Midface support & volume change: With time, changes in cheek/midface structure can make the fold look deeper.

  • Expression (“smile lines”): Repeated movement from smiling or laughing can accentuate creasing in this area.

  • Skin quality: Sun exposure, genetics and elasticity changes may make lines more noticeable.

A doctor-led consultation assesses the midface (cheeks), perioral area and overall facial balance at rest and in motion. If suitable, our Doctor can discuss personalised, non-surgical options and skin-care strategies to address your concerns, along with benefits, risks, alternatives and maintenance.

Important: Some options discussed in consultation may involve a prescription-only medicine. We do not advertise prescription-only medicines to the public. Any such option can only be discussed and, if appropriate, provided after a consultation with a registered medical practitioner. Individual results vary; no outcome is guaranteed.

WHY NASOLABIAL TREATMENT?

Nasolabial folds give the face tired and sagging appearance.

With judicious placement of volume & contour treatments, we may be able to:

1. Youth one’s appearance
2. Assist with obvious asymmetry
3. Act as a supplementary support (e.g. bone) to project or create facial harmony
4. Repair skin wrinkling from repetitive movements

Our Approach & Design — Nasolabial Folds

Assessment & proportion

The plan is doctor-led and tailored to the severity and pattern of your folds, skin quality and overall facial balance. The amount of work in this region varies by individual, and we may recommend addressing adjacent areas to maintain natural proportions.

Support & shape

Nasolabial folds often relate to midface support. For suitable adults, improving cheek/midface balance may help reduce the appearance of the fold by easing the downward vector from descending fat pads. Treating the fold and contributing areas together can create a more cohesive, natural-looking result. Staging and maintenance are discussed at consultation.

Comprehensive planning

Ageing can involve volume redistribution and bony/soft-tissue change, especially from the cheeks, which can make folds appear deeper. Where appropriate, your practitioner may outline facial volume & contour options to soften the look of folds and support age-appropriate harmony. Recommendations are conservative and aligned with your goals and anatomy.

Beyond the fold

Rather than focusing only on the crease, we consider the underlying contributors—for example cheeks, chin/jawline transitions and skin quality. Your plan may integrate evidence-informed skincare and, where suitable, energy-based therapies, alongside non-surgical contour options. All benefits, risks, alternatives and costs are covered during your doctor-led consultation in Brisbane.

Important: Some options discussed in consultation may involve a prescription-only medicine. We do not advertise prescription-only medicines to the public. Any such option can only be discussed and, if appropriate, provided after a consultation with a registered medical practitioner. Individual results vary; no outcome is guaranteed.
