Eleventh Halo Brisbane

HALO® and BBL HEROic® — a doctor-led combination approach to skin texture, tone, and quality.

Eleventh Halo is a clinical treatment combination at Eleventh Heaven in Teneriffe, Brisbane, pairing HALO® hybrid fractional laser with BBL HEROic® broadband light therapy in a single planned session. The two technologies address different types of skin change at different depths — HALO for texture, fine lines, and structural skin quality; BBL HEROic® for visible redness, pigmentation, and surface colour. Where both concerns are present, treating them together may be more efficient and, for some patients, more appropriate than separating them into different treatment stages.

Combination treatment is not recommended for everyone. Whether it is the right approach depends on what is actually driving the concern, the skin type, and the recovery the patient can accommodate.

What is Eleventh Halo?

Eleventh Halo is the name used at Eleventh Heaven for a planned combination of HALO® and BBL HEROic® — two technologies from the Sciton platform — delivered in the same treatment session.

HALO® hybrid fractional laser

HALO delivers both non-ablative and ablative laser wavelengths simultaneously. The non-ablative wavelength supports collagen remodelling in the deeper dermis, while the ablative wavelength creates precise surface renewal. This allows HALO to address texture, enlarged pores, fine lines, and structural skin quality in a single session.

BBL HEROic®

BBL HEROic® is a broadband light treatment — not a laser — that uses filtered light energy to target visible brown pigmentation, redness, and superficial vascular changes at the skin surface. It is primarily a colour-correction treatment and does not resurface the skin.

Used together, they address concerns at multiple levels: colour at the surface, texture and structure deeper in the skin. The clinical logic of combining them is that many patients present with both types of change at the same time.

Why HALO and BBL HEROic may be combined

Different forms of skin change occur at different depths — and different technologies are optimised for different targets.

BBL HEROic® clears surface pigmentation and vascular changes effectively, but does not address textural ageing or deeper structural change. HALO addresses texture and collagen remodelling effectively, but is not primarily designed for colour correction. When both concerns are present together — sun damage with concurrent textural change, for example — addressing only one may produce a less complete result.

Combining them in a planned session allows both dimensions of the concern to be treated without requiring separate recoveries at separate appointments. For patients with combined colour and texture concerns who can accommodate the recovery, this can be a more efficient and clinically appropriate approach than treating each in isolation.

What Eleventh Halo may help with

Where clinically appropriate, the Eleventh Halo combination may be considered for patients presenting with:

Sun damage with concurrent textural change

Where cumulative UV exposure has affected both skin tone and surface texture — producing pigmentation, redness, and rough or uneven skin quality together.

Visible redness alongside fine lines and pore changes

Where diffuse facial redness or flushing coexists with textural ageing concerns.

Skin dullness, uneven tone, and surface irregularity

Where the overall impression of the skin — its clarity, evenness, and texture — is the concern rather than a single isolated issue.

Selected acne-scar-related texture and tone concerns

Where there is a combination of post-acne textural change, uneven tone, and residual redness or pigmentation, combination treatment may sometimes be considered as part of a broader doctor-led plan. For patients seeking a more dedicated overview of scar-pattern assessment and treatment pathways, see our Acne Scarring Treatment Brisbane page.

Pre-maintenance skin improvement

For patients seeking a more comprehensive starting point before transitioning to a lower-downtime maintenance approach such as periodic MOXI® or BBL HEROic® sessions.

When combination treatment may be appropriate — and when it may not be

Eleventh Halo is not the right approach for every patient, and it is not automatically recommended because both technologies are available.

It may be considered when a patient presents with significant colour and texture concerns together, has a skin type and history suitable for both modalities, and can accommodate the combined recovery.

It is less likely to be recommended where the concerns are primarily colour-based — in which case BBL HEROic® alone may be more appropriate — or primarily textural, where HALO alone may be the better starting point. Where textural concerns are deeper, more localised, or more scar-driven, a more targeted resurfacing pathway such as ProFractional™ may sometimes be discussed instead. The right starting point depends on the pattern, depth, skin type, treatment history, and the degree of recovery a patient can reasonably accept.

Suitability is assessed during consultation. A combination approach is a clinical decision, not a default offering.

Recovery and downtime — what to expect

Because Eleventh Halo involves both light therapy and fractional laser resurfacing, the recovery is more involved than either treatment alone. Understanding this clearly is part of every consultation.

Immediately after treatment

The skin will feel warm and appear red — similar to significant sun exposure. Some swelling is expected, particularly around the eyes.

Days 2 to 4

Swelling may peak. Treated pigmentation will darken. The skin surface develops a rough, dry texture as the body begins its renewal process — this is an expected and normal part of recovery.

Days 5 to 7

The darkened surface debris gradually sheds, revealing the fresher skin beneath. This phase resolves progressively rather than all at once.

Social downtime

Most patients plan for five to seven days of visible recovery before returning to professional or social commitments. Specific aftercare guidance is provided at consultation and post-treatment.

How treatment is planned at Eleventh Heaven

At Eleventh Heaven, Eleventh Halo is approached as a clinical assessment, not a menu selection.

The decision to combine HALO and BBL HEROic® — and how each should be calibrated — depends on the individual’s skin type, the nature and degree of the concern, treatment history, and recovery tolerance. Treatment parameters are determined according to the anatomy and goals of each patient, not a standardised protocol.

Where a combination approach is not the most appropriate starting point, the recommendation will reflect that honestly. HALO alone, BBL HEROic® alone, MOXI®, or a more targeted resurfacing pathway such as ProFractional™ may serve the patient better — and this is part of what consultation is for.

Treatment planning is overseen by Dr Ricky Sia (MED0001887205) within a consultation-first framework designed to support natural-looking outcomes. Eleventh Heaven’s broader philosophy across medical aesthetics in Brisbane is the same: treatment should suit the concern, the face, the skin, and the patient — not the other way around.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Eleventh Halo?

Eleventh Halo is a clinical treatment combination at Eleventh Heaven that pairs HALO® hybrid fractional laser with BBL HEROic® broadband light therapy in a single planned session — addressing skin texture and structural quality through HALO alongside surface colour and pigmentation through BBL HEROic®.

Why are HALO and BBL HEROic combined?

The two technologies address different types of skin change. BBL HEROic® targets visible pigmentation and redness at the surface. HALO addresses texture, fine lines, and deeper structural skin quality. Where both concerns are present simultaneously, combining them in one session may be more appropriate than treating each separately.

Do I need both treatments, or just one?

Not every patient needs combination treatment. If the primary concern is colour — redness or pigmentation — BBL HEROic® alone may be appropriate. If the primary concern is texture or structural skin quality, HALO alone may be more relevant. The combination is considered where both dimensions of concern are present and the patient’s skin and recovery tolerance are suitable.

Is Eleventh Halo comfortable?

Topical numbing is applied beforehand. During treatment, warmth and mild prickling are typically described. Both devices include integrated cooling to support comfort. After treatment, a sunburn-like sensation is expected for several hours.

What is the downtime after Eleventh Halo?

Most patients plan for five to seven days of visible social downtime — including an initial period of redness and swelling, followed by surface darkening and a rough texture as the skin renews, before gradual resolution. This is discussed in detail during consultation.

When will I see results?

Initial improvement in clarity and texture is often visible within one to two weeks as recovery resolves. Deeper collagen remodelling continues over the following months, with ongoing improvement in skin firmness and overall skin quality.

How many sessions are needed?

Many patients achieve a meaningful outcome from a single Eleventh Halo session. Some choose to follow with lower-downtime maintenance treatments such as MOXI® or BBL HEROic® periodically over time. A personalised recommendation is made during consultation.

Can Eleventh Halo help with acne-scar-related texture?

In selected cases, yes — particularly where there is a combination of post-acne textural change together with residual redness or uneven tone. Where scarring is deeper or more structurally defined, a more targeted resurfacing pathway may be more appropriate. This is assessed during consultation.

Can Eleventh Halo treat melasma?

Melasma requires a careful, considered approach because it can be worsened by heat-based treatments if not properly assessed. Where melasma is present, the combination protocol may not be appropriate, or may need to be modified significantly. A medical assessment is required before treatment is planned for melasma.

Who plans Eleventh Halo treatment?

Treatment planning is overseen by Dr Ricky Sia (MED0001887205). Specific calibration — including the depth and density of HALO and the filter selection for BBL HEROic® — is determined according to individual anatomy and goals, not a standardised protocol.

Is a consultation required before booking?

Yes. A medical consultation is required before treatment to assess skin type, treatment history, suitability, and recovery expectations. Combination treatment is not offered as a standard booking — it is recommended where it is clinically appropriate for that individual.
